Bonds Account Manager

Location: West Des Moines, Iowa

Summary: ​Provides technical support for the Account Executives in sales and service of processing bonds, in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the CEO and the Property & Casualty Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides service to assigned accounts by responding to client inquiries and underwriter inquiries.
• Processes client transactions on the various computer systems.
• Checks bond coverages and rating on all new business and renewals for accuracy and relevance.
• Obtains quotations for new business, renewals and endorsements, with direction of Account Executive.
• Assists the Account Executive in researching issues.
• Assists the Account Coordinator in processing.
• Obtains and maintains appropriate insurance agent's licenses.
• Pursues a program of personal and professional development as approved.
• Back up and support the Bond team when members are unavailable.
• Perform other specifc duties as assigned.

Competencies:

• High school education, insurance classes, plus 2 or more years of related experience in an insurance company or agency, or equivalent training and/or experience. Some college level course of study helpful.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations including ability to rate bonds.
• Ability to understand and analyze financial statements, bond forms, and policies.
• Ability to accomplish the described duties through the use of appropriate computer and general office equipment.
• Ability to process and service assigned book of business.
