Another terrific Iowa Association of Business and Industry conference is in the history books. For three days, there was no shortage of fun, networking, valuable industry updates, and inspirational messages. This year, LMC sponsored a hole-on-one competition on hole #9 during Wednesday’s golf outing. While no-one won, we had 125 golfers pass through our tent and we enjoyed cheering everyone on.
The second day of the conference was filled with educational sessions. Everything from worker productivity, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, trends in employee benefits, tax reform, business plans, and today’s political environment was covered.
The Chair’s Reception and a tour of Kinnick Stadium followed the day’s sessions. It was nice to spend time networking and talking with conference attendees about all we had learned. To wrap up the day, LMC hosted a fun social event, where everyone enjoyed dueling pianos!
On the final day, speaker Andy Anderson provided valuable insight on how to accomplish our goals. He shared personal stories about climbing mountains, earning multiple degrees, and how his experiences lead him to teaching at University of Northern Iowa. Andy’s message was clear: you cannot just get up one day and climb Mount Everest; you will have many little steps along the way! A point well taken.
